COLOMBO (News 1st) - Coca-Cola has named Kaushali Kusumapala as the new Country Director for Sri Lanka and Maldives, marking a historic moment as the first woman from Sri Lanka to hold this position.

Effective April 1st, 2024, Kusumapala takes over the reins from Pankaj Sinha, who previously led the region in 2019.

In her new role, Kusumapala will foster close collaboration with various groups across Sri Lanka and Maldives.

This includes working hand-in-hand with bottling partners, customers, industry associates, consumers, and external stakeholders.

Kusumapala brings a wealth of experience to the table, having built a diverse career since 2009. She has honed her skills with renowned organizations like Leo Burnett, Fonterra Dairy, and Domino's Pizza.

Kusumapala expresses her enthusiasm for the appointment, highlighting her eagerness to collaborate with Coca-Cola's bottling partners, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka and Male’ Aerated Water Company, and other stakeholders.

Kusumapala holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.

Coca-Cola has a rich history in Sri Lanka, having established its presence there since 1961.

The company directly employs over 400 individuals and has a broad network of over 80,000 shops.
