Drug Bust: 550 Arrested, Including 5 Women

COLOMBO (News 1st) Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities apprehended 550 individuals on Monday.

These suspects are allegedly linked to drug-related activities.

Among the apprehended individuals, five women were taken into custody.

Authorities are in the process of obtaining detention orders for 12 additional suspects.

The police operation yielded substantial results. During the operation, officers confiscated significant quantities of illicit substances, including heroin, ice (methamphetamine), and ganja (cannabis).

The special police operation targeted the Western and Southern provinces, areas known for their drug-related activities.
