Growth in foreign arrivals recorded at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Katunayake Airport says that a growth in the number of foreigners arriving in the country has been recorded. 

Its Director, Shehan Sumarasekara said that 89,000 foreigners arrived in Sri Lanka from the Katunayake airport alone last month.

He stated that about 3,000 foreign nationals have visited Sri Lanka daily from Katunayake in January so far.

Meanwhile, five new counters were opened at the Katunayake Airport departure terminal this morning (08) for check in and departing passengers' tickets.

At the same time, the total number of ticket check-in counters at the exit terminal has been increased to 60, the News 1st correspondent reported.
