Minister calls for report on second expressway bus fire

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has called for an immediate report on the fire aboard a bus which was heading towards Matara on the Southern Expressway this morning. The Ministry of Passenger Transport Management said the ill fated Super Luxury bus, was a private bus operating under the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). The Ministry stressed, the bus in question was never purchased by the SLTB. A similar Super Luxury bus, operating from the Ambalantota Depot caught fire on the 01st of March, the Ministry added. Accordingly, the Minister has called for a report on all private buses which operate under the SLTB.
